Smoked pig shots are one of the best BBQ appetizers you can make. Kielbasa wrapped in bacon and stuffed with cheese and jalapenos.

  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 24 pig shots 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of kielbasa
  • 2 pounds of thick cut bacon
  • 8 oz of cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 jalapenos or 1/4 cup pickled jalapenos
  • 3 tbsp of BBQ rub
  • 1/4 cup hot honey or regular honey (for less spice)

Instructions

  1. Slice kielbasa into 1 inch thick pieces.
  2. Wrap each piece with a slice of THICK cut bacon then put a toothpick through it to secure it. Tip: make sure the fat side of the bacon is on the bottom
  3. Put together the filling in a large bowl with: 1 block softened cream cheese, 2 diced jalapeños, 1 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese, ¼ cup sour cream and 2 tbsp of BBQ rub.
  4. Smoke them at 350° F for 45 minutes indirect of the heat.
  5. Drizzle hot honey on top of each pig shot the last 15 minutes.
  6. Remove when the bacon is crispy then serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Use regular honey for less spice.

Don’t overfill the pig shots as the cheese mixture expands during the cook.
