Smoky, sweet, and spicy baked beans packed with bacon, beef, and jalapeños—an irresistible BBQ side dish bursting with rich, bold flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of 80/20 ground beef
  • 1 pound of thick cut bacon
  • 12 oz Spicy Andouille sausage 
  • 2 cans of bush’s Grillin Baked beans (22 oz bourbon flavor)
  • 2 Jalapeños, sliced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • ½ cup Spicy BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup Ketchup
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar 
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika 
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Form the burger into ⅓ pound patties then season them with a burger rub. Grill the burger patties over direct heat.  Remove once fully cooked then chop it up and set aside.
  2. Cut the bacon into bite size pieces then fry up the bacon in a skillet. Remove from the pan when crispy.
  3. Cook the diced onions for 10-15 minutes until they begin to caramelize. Add in the diced green bell peppers and cook for 5-7 minutes over medium heat until softened. 
  4. Combine all of the ingredients in a foil pan, then mix thoroughly. 
  5. Top the mixed beans with the sliced jalapenos, then place the pan on the smoker at 250°F for 45 minutes. Stir every 10-15 minutes
  6. Once beans are softened, serve them up warm and enjoy!
