Chipotle Lime Ranch is the ultimate upgrade to the most icon dressing of all time.

Making your own ranch at home is super easy to do and it adds a ton of flavor to the dressing. It’s also a lot healthier to make than traditional store bought dressing.

Ingredients you will need

Cream base: mayo and sour cream

Liquid: Chicken broth and a[pple cider vinegar

Seasonings: Limes, chipotle peppers in adobo, dill, garlic powder, onion powder and salt

How to make Chipotle Lime Ranch

Making your own ranch at home is one of the easiest things you can make.

Simply combine all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor then mix for 1 minute until fully all of the ingredients are fully combined.

The longer you mix your ingredients together, the smoother and creamier the ranch will be. For thicker ranch, add less chicken broth and for more runny ranch add more chicken broth.

How to store the Chipotle Lime Ranch

Pour the homemade ranch into an air tight container such as a mason jar. You can store the ranch refrigerated for up to 7 days (if it lasts that long).

Another great option is to store it in a squeeze bottle which makes using the ranch easier and more spreadable.

What to eat with the Chipotle Lime Ranch

Ranch goes great with anything. I love using this for easy week day salads, but I’ve also put it on my Brisket Street Corn Tacos and the flavor was next level.

Crispy chicken wings are another easy go-to way to enjoy the homemade ranch. Grill or smoke the wings then dip them in the Chipotle Lime Ranch for a ton of extra flavor.

  • 3/4 cup mayo
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 3 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 1 tsp dill 
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Juice from 1 lime


  1. Measure out and  all of the ingredients together into a food processor.
  2. Blend the ingredients for 1 minute until fully combined and creamy.
  3. Pour the ranch into an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 1 week.
