How to make Smoked Pepperoni Pizza Dip Recipe
Preheat your smoker to a medium heat of 350° F with hickory wood chips from Bear Mountain BBQ for a bold smoky flavor. I used my Nomad Grills for this cook as it was the perfect size for a smaller skillet.
In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients: 8 oz of room temperature cream cheese, ½ cup cheddar cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, 1 tbsp Italian seasoning, 1 tsp oregano and 1 tsp garlic powder.
Thoroughly mix all of the ingredients until everything is combined.
You can buy pre-shredded cheese to save time, but freshly shredded cheese is always tastes better.
Spread the cream cheese mixture in a 10 inch cast iron skillet or baking dish.
Next, top the skillet with 2 cups of pizza or marinara sauce then spread it out evenly.
Add 1 cup mozzarella cheese to the skillet and evenly spread it out.
Add the pepperonis. I used full size pepperoni, but I would recommend mini pepperonis so you can fit more.
You can really add any of your favorite toppings such as mushrooms, black olives or green pepper.
Place the skillet on the smoker for 15-20 minutes indirect of the heat.
Slice a baguette diagonally then place on a cookie sheet. Drizzle on 3 tbsp olive oil then season with 1 tsp garlic salt and bake at 350° F for 12 minutes.
Place the grill on high for the next 10 minutes until the cheese bubbles and meat begins to crisp up.
Serve the cheesy dip up warm with the toasted baguette pieces.
