Ingredients You’ll Need for Bacon Jam Cheeseburger Sliders

For the Sliders:

  • 2 pounds of 80/20 ground beef
  • 6 slices pepper jack cheese (or American cheese slices for classic flavor)
  • 1 pack of Hawaiian slider buns
  • 2 tbsp of your favorite burger seasoning
  • 3 tbsp mayo (for toasting top buns and bottom buns)

Bacon Jam Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of bacon, diced
  • 1 large sweet onion, diced
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 4 oz bourbon

For the Burger Sauce:

  • 1 cup mayo
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp relish
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp chipotle powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

How to Make Bacon Jam Cheeseburger Sliders

1. Make the Bacon Jam

Grab a large skillet or cast iron skillet and place it over medium heat. Add the diced bacon and cook until it begins to render the bacon fat.

Add in the diced sweet onion and continue cooking until the bacon is crispy bacon and the onions are golden and soft.

Next, stir in the brown sugar, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, and bourbon. Let the mixture simmer until thick and sticky—this should take about 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally so it doesn’t burn.

Once done, transfer to a small bowl and set aside to cool.

2. Cook the Beef Patties

Take your 2 pounds of ground beef and gently press it into the bottom of the Hawaiian slider bun tray (yes, the one with the white tray in the bottom).

This creates one big patty that fits the slider buns perfectly and helps the beef stay together while cooking.

Season the beef with your favorite burger seasoning. Heat your griddle or cast iron skillet to medium-high heat.

Carefully transfer the large beef slab onto the hot surface and cook for about 5 minutes per side.

When flipping the burger, I highly recommend using two spatulas as it will help avoid breaking it apart.

Once flipped, add your slices of cheese over the top and let it melt for that irresistible melty cheese layer.

3. Toast the Buns

While the beef cooks, slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Spread a thin layer of mayo on the insides of both top buns and bottom buns.

Remove them from the griddle once they are golden brown. The mayo helps achieve that golden crunch and adds flavor.

4. Make the Burger Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together mayo, ketchup, mustard, relish, Worcestershire, smoked paprika, apple cider vinegar, chipotle powder, salt, and pepper. This creamy, tangy sauce adds serious flavor to your individual sliders.

Serve warm and watch them disappear.

Pro Tips for the Best Bacon Jam Cheeseburger Sliders

  • Use a paper towel-lined plate to drain your bacon if needed before making the jam.
  • For even more depth of flavor, cook the onions low and slow before adding the other jam ingredients.
  • Use a cast iron skillet for best sear on the beef.
  • Don’t skip toasting the buns—it’s a small step that makes a big difference.
  • Customize with your favorite cheeseburger toppings like pickles, jalapeños, or crispy onions.
