How to make a Smoked Meatball Sub
Preheat your smoker at 275° F and add in some cherry wood for a sweet smokey flavor.
In a large bowl, combine 1 pound of burger, 1 egg, ¼ cup parmesan cheese, ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs, 2 tbsp parsley, 3 cloves minced garlic, 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp pepper.
Mix all of the ingredients thoroughly then form up 6 meatballs by rolling the mixture in your hand. Place the meatballs on an oiled wire rack.
Put the wire rack directly on the Nomad Grill at 275 ℉ for 30 minutes.
Place the meatballs in an 8 inch cast iron skillet with 24 oz of marinara sauce then put it back on the grill for an additional 10 minutes until the sauce is heated up.
Cut your baguette on top then toast the bun for a couple of minutes.
Assemble the sandwich with ½ cup mozzarella cheese, the smoked meatballs, 1 tbsp fresh basil, ¼ cup parmesan cheese, sauce from the pan, then top with ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese.
Place the baguette back on the grill indirect of the heat for another 5-10 minutes until the cheese melts.
Slice in half and enjoy!
