Texas Twinkie Egg Rolls are one of the most flavor packed appetizers you can serve.

Jalapeno poppers are one of my favorite things to make when it comes to game day food. For this recipe, I took it to the next level by adding smoked brisket into some jalapeño popper egg rolls.

These things turned out crunchy one the outside with a smokey, gooey inside – they really are the perfect appetizer.

Be sure to give these a try for your next gathering or game day, you won’t be disappointed.

Ingredients you will need

Meat: Smoked brisket and bacon

Pepper: Jalapeño peppers

In a large bowl, combine the brisket, softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, diced jalapenos, chopped bacon, green onions, smoked paprika, onion powder and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly until fully combined.

Tip: If you do not have smoked brisket, cooked and seasoned ground beef also works great.

How to Assemble the Texas Twinkie Egg Rolls

Lay out the egg roll wrapper so that the bottom point is facing you.

Place 3 tablespoons of filling on the bottom third of the wrapper – you can add shredded mozzarella cheese in the egg roll for an even more cheesy experience.

Take the bottom corner of the wrapper and roll it over the top of the cream cheese mixture.

Fold the sides in then dip your finger in a bit of water and run it along the edges of the wrapper.

Finish rolling the egg roll making sure all of the sides are secure. Repeat the process until all egg rolls are wrapped.

You can either discard or save the remaining wrappers to use for another recipe like my viral Bacon Cheeseburger Egg Rolls.

Put together the homemade ranch then put it in an airtight container and place it in the fridge for serving.

Pour oil into a large cast iron skillet until there is an inch of oil on the bottom. You can also use a deep fryer or large pot for this process. Heat oil to a medium-high heat of 375° F.

Place the egg rolls in the hot oil, rotate them every 2-3 minutes.

If you are putting them in a deep fryer, place the homemade egg rolls in hot oil for 3-4 minutes.

Remove the fried egg roll from oil then place on a wire rack with a baking sheet lined with paper towels underneath to allow the excess oil to drip off.
